Sadie and Ben are in love, and although Ben suggests getting married in the Caribbean, Sadie has her heart set on a wedding at the family church, St. Augustine’s. Ben says sure, and they meet with the pastor, Rev. Frank. The only date open for two years is three weeks away, and Frank insists the kids go through his marriage prep course. They’re to write their own vows; he also demands chastity, bugs their apartment, initiates arguments, has them care for robot twins, creates friction between Ben and her family, and raises doubts in Sadie. Desperate, Ben looks for dirt on Frank. Can he undermine Frank’s authority and keep Sadie’s heart?

Film Review

I liked this movie a little bit until the moment when the reverend gives 2 robot babies to the couple from that instant "License to Wed" is terrible.I have to say I liked the performance of Robim Williams and I liked all the characters of the movie too. I would have liked to see more of the character played by Christine Taylor which I found very funny and interesting. The problem with "License to Wed" is that instead of being a romantic comedy movie is much more a comedy one, but like I said before since the robot babies part this movie stop being funny and there is not much left to see from then.I recommend to watch this movie if you are a Robin Williams fan, or if you are with your girlfriend and you catch it on TV, but stop watching it at the first moment you find it boring (the robot babies part) because from then on it gets only worse.

License to Wed is no masterpiece in any shape or form, but I didn't think it is a bad movie. If I had to sum it up in one word, I would say uneven. Because it is. The story is very predictable and has some dull and unbelievable parts to it, I personally could have done without the part with the "creepy" babies and the script is weak in places. Then there is the pacing, some of the movie does move briskly, but there are moments where it is dull as well, while the direction lacks solidity. That said, it is nicely filmed, the scenery in Jamaica was especially ravishing, and the soundtrack was good. While the film itself is uneven, there are some funny moments such as the introduction to Robin Williams's character and when Ben blows the trumpet into the bug that had been placed into the room. In terms of performances, Robin Williams gives the best one and provides the film's funniest moments. Mandy Moore and John Krassinski aren't as convincing but they are pr…

If you like religious comedy, then here is the movie for you. This couple is getting married after being together for six entire months. Wow. I was with my husband for 5 and a half years before we got married. I think that the couple in this movie should have just stayed apart or fart. There were some really lame fart jokes in this movie and the baby robots were super ugly. I wish everyone who wants to get married after six months should go through this guys program and then not get married. Maybe Frank can pencil you in after two years. I didn't get all the religious jokes either. I am not religious person and that poor child who was in training needed to get out of the church and go to the playground with children his own age. Who on earth practices carrying the bride across the threshold? There were so many things wrong with this movie. It made me want to hurl my lunch. Don't see this movie if you want to get married because it will ruin your marriage.
